Those who remember Ciro Blazevic as a young man from Travnik know that his first sport was in fact – cross-country skiing.
In 1952, for the first time in the history of Yugoslavian skiing, the winner was not Slovenian. It was Miroslav Blazevic who won first place in junior cross-country skiing. He performed on hand crafted skis in a plain flannel shirt. His unexpected triumph was rewarded with a wool sweater and a kilogram of oranges.
