I enjoyed this match. This victory is making history. We already have many historic victories under our belt and I wish us even more. The Croats play the best football in the continent of Europe. Not seeing that means not having a clue about football.

This result confirms us as absolute favorites of Euro 2016. This match was played with such bravura! I’ll let you in on a secret. Ten or so years ago, subconsciously I did not want anyone to come close to my accomplishments or surpass them, but now I wish that badly for that to happen. Our Croatia is weak and drained, politicians ruined it and it is about time for the people to find joy somewhere. Our footballers deserve to rejoice with us.

Nobody had defeated Spain in years. Now, even with the judge on their side they still couldn’t defeat Croatia’s second lineup. There were no weak links, the Spaniards played fantastically, but as fantastic as they were – we defeated them.

Ivan Perisic was the deciding player. He was the driving force that took us to our greatest victory. He assissted Kalinic for the first goal. He scored the second one himself. He destroyed Spain’s ambitions. He was on fire and creative. Corluka was, as I like to say, imperial. The entire team played wisely – to trap the Spanish national team is an unparalleled accomplishment.

But there is one thing we mustn’t forget! The Spaniards played phenomenally. And we still defeated them. What does that make our game? It makes our game – surreal!
